Firm Overview

The Law Office of Timothy Farrell Sweeney was founded in 1996 with the stated purpose of working directly with clients to effectively and efficiently resolve their disputes.

The firm’s lawyers, Timothy F. Sweeney and Lynn Rowe Larsen have each had nearly a decade of experience practicing at one of Ohio’s largest and most prestigious law firms. They have established well earned reputations for success in court, on appeal, and at the negotiating table.

General Civil Litigation

The firm’s civil litigation practice involves representing clients in all kinds of civil matters at the trial and appellate levels, including commercial disputes, contract litigation, products liability, civil rights litigation, employment law, shareholder disputes, construction litigation, trade secret disputes, insurance and coverage litigation, intellectual property disputes, patent and copyright litigation, licensing disputes, and collection disputes.

Working one-on-one with clients, our attorneys know how to fully assess each case in order to craft a successful litigation strategy. Whether the case is ultimately litigated, arbitrated, or a settlement is negotiated, clients can be assured that no detail of their case has been overlooked.

Criminal Litigation and Appeals

Timothy F. Sweeney is also highly skilled at representing clients accused of felonies and misdemeanors in both state and federal court trials, appeals and post-conviction proceedings. The firm provides a thorough, vigorous defense to clients accused of crimes. As part of this criminal law practice, Timothy F. Sweeney has been appointed on numerous occasions by federal judges, at both the trial and appellate levels, to represent death row inmates in their federal habeas corpus actions challenging the constitutionality of their state court convictions and/or sentences of death.

Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights

Since its founding, the firm has established a strong reputation for representing creditors and parties with claims in bankruptcy or similar proceedings. The firm helps clients get their rights recognized in the bankruptcy court and seeks to maximize recovery for creditors from the bankruptcy estate.
